Big City Here We Come!
For the 3rd Summer in a row, Harmony Community Cares’ Community Arts program is helping them do just that! Thanks to funding from the Safe and Peaceful Communities Fund and the Chicago Community Trust, we are bringing our students on a series of field trips this Summer which are designed to expose them to the incredible arts and culture that our city has to offer. Plays, musicals, and museums all have a lot to teach our students about the performing arts, our shared history, and the things they can do when they put their minds to it. This year, they will get to experience Jack and the Beanstalk, Urban Jumping, and the Museum of Science and Industry.
This past Summer, we brought around 30 children to Navy Pier - for nearly all of these young people, it was their first time to see this classic Chicago establishment. This Summer, we want to recreate this magic and bring these students to another new place - we want to give them an experience that they can look back on fondly for the rest of their lives.
