Board Spotlight: Shonte Horton

Shonte Horton is new to the Board, but this North Lawndale native is not new to Harmony. For over 25 years Shonte has been an integral part of our community, serving in various capacities, from accounting to volunteering at the Food pantry.  She describes best what draws her to Harmony Community Cares:

Q: How did you get involved with Harmony?

SH: The people were welcoming, and the atmosphere of genuine love expressed at Harmony was a significant factor that drew me closer. I started to volunteer at an early age and I’m still here doing what I love to do, helping and serving for over 25 plus years. 

Q: What motivates you to be a part of Harmony Community Cares?

SH: My love for people and my willingness to help with administrative work are driving my involvement. My dedication to contributing my skills and supporting others can have a positive impact on my community.
