Reflections from our Executive Director

It has been an inspiring several weeks since I had the honor of joining the Harmony team. During my first couple of days I had the opportunity to work side-by-side with dozens of volunteers to prepare the Harmony Food Pantry for business. Since then, I have met with dozens more people to learn of the hopes and challenges of the Harmony community. As we highlight below, we are facing important headwinds with funding cuts that impact our service. The great news, Harmony has a deep bench of supporters who are actively committing to helping us weather this storm.

And even better news, the Academic Enrichment team is preparing to launch our out-of-school tutoring program to help Lawndale's students achieve in school. It will be my first time seeing this work in action, and I look forward to sharing the impact that our dedicated staff, volunteers, and parents have with our community's children. Please stay tuned for more.

In the meantime, thank you for all you do to power Harmony. It takes a mighty village to create the change we seek — we all appreciate everything you do to be part of it.

With love and determination,

Eric Johnson
