Our Community Arts Students Take the Stage

In December, our Community Arts students closed out the year by bringing Scrooge to life on the Harmony Stage. What the audience saw was the result of weeks of practice, teamwork, and creative growth as students learned lines, choreography, and how to show up for one another on and off the stage.

The production was led by Melonie B. Lockridge, Cocoa Spralls, and the Community Arts team, who guided students through the process and helped them build confidence along the way. The show was fun, thoughtful, and at times hilarious, filling the room as families and neighbors gathered to celebrate together.

The evening also featured performances by Chicago artists, including North Lawndale’s own Dezmo and Vernard Live, whose music added depth and meaning to the program.

More than anything, the night reflected the students themselves. Their performance showed courage, creativity, and pride in what they accomplished together. Bravo to our students and the Community Arts team on closing out the year with this amazing program and helping us step into the holidays with joy.
