A Very Merry Christmas
The young people of North Lawndale are a talented bunch! After an Autumn session spent singing and dancing, our students wowed family and friends with their new talents at our Christmas Showcase! They performed from the heart, singing songs, telling stories, and playing music that reminded us all of the true meaning of Christmas - love for friends, families, and community.
Each performance was heartwarming and joyous, but the highlight was the finale, when all our students performed a number together. Their talent, confidence and joy in performing was incredible. It is truly a testament to the value and power of the arts.
Our program manager Melonie Lockridge had this to say:
“These kids are a product of what a little quality time and care will get you. Our arts program consists of so many different and special talents. They are a little rough around the edges and sometimes rambunctious, but their talent and determination keeps me going!”
And, we’d like to give a special shout out to Philip Tarvar, who has been a Drama and spoken word instructor for three consecutive seasons of faithfulness, dedication, and hard work with the children. This work is essential, and Philip has done an excellent job making an impact on these students’ lives.
